Marion B. Dana

Marion B. Dana, age 79, of Stevens Point, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.

Marion was born on February 21, 1934 to the late Walter & Carol (Roebken) Becker in Milwaukee, WI. During her earlier childhood, her family was relocated several times due to her father's military service. She attended several grade schools throughout the U.S. until her family finally settled in Wausau, WI. She attended the local schools and graduated from Wausau High School in 1952. Marion continued her education by attending Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. She graduated in 1956 with an Occupational Therapy degree.

She married Carroll Dana on June 15, 1957 at St. James Catholic Church in Wausau, WI.

Marion and Carroll moved to Madison; and subsequently moved to Milwaukee in 1959 for Carroll's career with Hardware Mutual. They settled in Stevens Point in 1960 where Marion devoted her life to her family.

She will be remembered for her generous and outgoing nature. Marion enjoyed staying active within the community and enjoyed welcoming new families to her neighborhood. She enjoyed family events, and loved spending time with family and friends. In her spare time, Marion exercised her passion for playing bridge. She was a member of the Town Bridge Club, in addition to various neighborhood bridge clubs. Marion also enjoyed traveling, and had visited 49 of the 50 U.S. states. Her faith was important to her as Marion was an active member of St Stanislaus Catholic Church. She participated in Bible studies, served as a reader, and distributed communion. Marion was involved in many organizations- she was Vice President of the Hospital Auxiliary in 1960, President of the Newcomers Club, and was a member of the Christian Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll; son, Brian (Donna) of Rhinelander; grandchildren, Gage, Amelia, & Marshall; brother, Robert (Linda) Becker of Mosinee; and nephews, grandnephews, & cousins.
