Mary Jane Polum, 81 formerly of Junction City, died on Tuesday evening, April 9, 2013 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek with Fr. John Ofori-Domah officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitations will be from 4-7pm Sunday at the Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City and again on Monday at the church from 9:30am until service time. There will be a parish rosary service at 4pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mary Jane was born on July 27, 1931 in Stevens Point to Stanley and Regina (Dulak) Raflik. She attended John F. Sims School and St. Joseph Academy in Stevens Point.

She was united in marriage to Steve Polum on July 20, 1957 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek. He died on July 17, 2005.

After their marriage, they lived in Milwaukee until 1991, when they retired and moved to Junction City.

Mary Jane is survived by her children, Allen (Sue Ziebell) Polum of Junction City, James (Julie) Polum of Kronenwetter, Sharon (James) Sabinash of Greenfield, WI and five grandchildren, Stephanie (Devon) Polzar, Benjamin Polum, Andy Sabinash, Casey Sabinash and Emma Polum. She is further survived by four brothers Richard Raflik of Shawano, Raymond (Alice) Raflik of Stevens Point, Dennis (Mary Jane) Raflik of Junction City, Marvin (Karen) Raflik of Lomira, five sisters, Evelyn Rinehart of Goleta, CA, Adrieann Zarecki of Junction City, Philomae Worzella of Stevens Point, Clairann (Dennis) Kaminski of Stevens Point and Adeline (Donald) Mrozek of Junction City.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Anthony, three brothers-in-law, Terry Rinehart, Peter Zarecki and Richard Worzella.

Family would like to thank Stevens Point Care Center Staff and St. Michael's Hospital for the special care of their mother. Also, to the family and friends who visited mom during her stay at the nursing facility.
