Nancy R. Wimme age 71, of Stevens Point passed away Thursday morning April 18, 2013 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston.

Memorial services for Nancy will be at 5:30 PM on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. Sandy Wendland will officiate. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4:30 until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nancy was born August 12, 1941 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Ben and Avis (McNamara) Fleming. As a child she moved with her family to the Stevens Point area. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1959. Nancy worked for City News Service which later became Badger Periodicals. She managed the downtown bookstore, Book World, until her retirement in 1995. Nancy married John "Jack" Wimme in 1989. She volunteered many hours for the American Cancer Society, and was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, visiting up north in Vilas County, and was an avid Packer Fan. She also served on her. P.J. Jacobs 1959 High school class reunion committee for many years. She taught Sunday School and helped assemble the Trinity Lutheran Church Newsletter known as "The Tower". Before she retired she became a licensed Realtor. One of her fondest past times- Playing bridge with the women of the "Ya Ya Bridge Club." She played bridge with a group of her friends for over 30 years. Nancy's family wishes to thank the "Ya Ya's" for their devoted friendship and support of Nancy over the years.

Nancy is survived by her daughter: Julie (Randy) Gruba, Stone Lake, WI. Two grandchildren: Jesse and Joshua. Four great grandchildren: Dalton, MacKenzee, Naomee, and Blake. Three step children: Jack Wimme, Kris (Lisa) Wimme, and Beth Harvath. Three step grandchildren; Josiah, Logan and Megan. Her sister: Sara (Don) Doyle, and her nephew Corey (Jenna) Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2000, her brother Ted and her niece Marguerite.
