Simons, Nila Webb
Nila Webb Simons 84, died June 12, 2013, at Whispering Pines in Plover. She was born to the late Kenneth and Martha (Langton) Sward May 5, 1929, in Stevens Point. Nila was married to the late William V. Webb in 1949. She resided in Chicago, Ill., before moving to Stevens Point in 1962. She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield. She enjoyed bowling, reading, crossword puzzles and riding motor cycles.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Rassussen; one brother, Alvin Sward; one great-grandson, Brice Adam Webb; and stepfather, Ben Marquardt. Survivors include one brother, Iyal Sward and a sister, Ardean Young. Her children, William Webb (Liz) Stevens Point; Patricia Valdez (Robert), Nevada; Phyllis Barbour (Mike), Texas; Stephanie Webb (Tom), Plover; Sheryl Holz (Dennis), Nekoosa; and Barbara Webb (Dan), Stevens Point. 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the Shudas Family Funeral Home in Plover at 10:30 a.m. The family expresses their thanks to the care givers of Whispering Pines in Plover and Hospice for the care of Nila.
