Raymond Rustad Obituary

Raymond C. Rustad, 82, of Amherst Junction died  Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at his home peacefully with his wife and children at his side.

Ray was born in the Town of New Hope, Portage County, on Oct. 26, 1929, the son of the late Clarence and Clara (Rambeck) Rustad. He lived in the Amherst Jct. area and attended Rosholt schools. Ray married Rose Catozzi on March 2, 1957, at North New Hope Lutheran Church where he was a life long member. 

Ray farmed in the Town of New Hope for his entire life. In addition to farming, he had also worked at the Waupaca Foundry and Faivre Implement. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. Ray enjoyed baseball, hunting, watching football, auto racing and most of all; visits from his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his wife, Rose Rustad of 54 years;

daughters, Linda Rustad, of Indianapolis, Ind., Laura (Dan) Berger, of Franktown, Colo., Karen (Rudi) Rudiger, of Stevens Point, Sam (Scott) Osman, of Lakewood, Colo.; son-in- law,  J.J. Jackson, of Sparks, Nev.; grandchildren,   Justin, of Sparks, Nev., Travis, of Ogden, Utah, Stevie and Ali, of Stevens Point, and Jesse, of Lakewood, Colo; and sister, Evelyn Severson, of Elderon.

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela; brothers, Willard "Bill", Myron, Odin "Rusty"  and Clarence "Teddy" Rustad.

Memorial Service will be held Friday at 1 p.m., Jan. 6, 2012, at North New Hope Lutheran Church, with The Reverend John Poffinbarger officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church. Burial of cremains will be in the parish cemetery at a later time.
