Robert C. McDonald

Robert C. McDonald age 74, formerly of Stevens Point passed away Monday morning January 14, 2013, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

Memorial services for Robert will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday January 16, 2013, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. Friends and family will gather to share memories from Noon - 2:00 PM at the chapel. Burial with full military honors will take place after the service at Forest Cemetery.

Robert was born October 1, 1938 in Medford, the son of Robert F. and Audrey (Brunkhorst) McDonald. As a child he moved with his family to Stevens Point, where he was a 1956 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. He attended UW- Whitewater before serving his country in the United States Army. He entered in Milwaukee on December 6, 1961 and served overseas as a SP5. Robert earned the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman Badge before being honorably discharged on November 23, 1964 at Ft. Hamilton, NY. He returned to the area and worked as a construction plumber in the Stevens Point - Wausau area until his retirement due to health issues in 1978. Robert married Kathleen Wroblewski in 1972 in Stevens Point, the couple had four daughters and later divorced. Robert was a member of the Walkers Club at the Mall and the Drifters Ski Club before entering the Veterans Home. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, downhill skiing, but most of all loved his daughters and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his daughters: Bobbie Marcoff, Mosinee; Billie (Daniel) Kern, Mosinee; Becky (Bradley) Manowski, Appleton; Kathy (William) Kubisiak, Stevens Point. 11 grandchildren: Ethan and Cameron Marcoff; Taylor, Damian, Siarra Kern; Meghan, Emma, Mitchell Manowski; Clayton, Katelyn, and William III Kubisiak. One sister Sandra (Rick) Cesped, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kay.
