Krayecki-Huchthausen, Shirley

Shirley Krayecki-Huchthausen, 68, died from complications of diabetes on Dec. 27, 2012, at the Stevens Point Care Center in Whiting, Wisconsin.

She was born on April 19, 1944, in Wisconsin Rapids, and attended local schools there.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Emily) Krayecki; daughters, Linda (Terry) Wolosek and Donna (Tim) Beadle all of the Stevens Point area; daughter, Diane L. Anderson of Port Aransas, Texas; and daughter, Debbie (Brian) Putnam of Denton, Texas. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, Johnathan Krayecki, James Krayecki, Suzanne Krayecki, Victoria Krayecki, Sean Anderson, Sierra Morrell, Jenny Hull, Nathan Hull, Jason Hull, Desire Wynn, Brittany Wynn, Tiffany Wynn, Jeremy Putnam, Megan Putnam, Corey Boone, Dylan Beadle, Chelsea Beadle and Morgan Beadle; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Ronald) Krayecki; and her God-daughter, Joan Krayecki -Joslyn of Raleigh, NC.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved and true love, Raymond Krayecki, who passed away in 1991. They were married on April 23, 1960; and when "Daddy" passed, Mom was never the same. They shared a love so great, and even though she's not on this earth, we take comfort in knowing they are re-united again…probably dancing to their favorite song, "Waltz Across Texas." She was also preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Agnes Wallock; and her second husband, Don Huchthausen.

She had worked at Sentry Insurance back in the 1970s, but then, Raymond and she decided to move to Rockport, Texas, to escape the cold weather. They first purchased The Balboa Courts, as well as other motels during the next few decades, until Raymond's death. They were very successful in these endeavors, remodeling and selling. The couple worked hard and instilled this onto their children.

Eventually, they found their way back to Plover, Wisconsin. Shirley has been in poor health for the past 15 years and, before becoming ill, she enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts and she loved to travel. Their trip to Europe was her favorite.

The family would like to personally thank Courtney Wyman, Kathy Frisch, and staff, at the Stevens Point Care Center and Ministry Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley's name to your local Humane Society.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Pisarski Community Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Plover, is assisting the family with arrangements. For online condolences, please visit
