Arthur 'Art' R. Boursier, 80, of 3216 Martha's Lane, Stevens Point, died Sunday Feb. 12, 2012, at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston.

Arthur was born on Aug. 9, 1931, in Arnott. He was the son of the late Byron and Doris (Beedle) Boursier. Arthur graduated from Prairie Elementary School in Arnott and attended P.J. Jacobs High School.
He entered the Army on Jan. 3, 1949, and received his basic training at Fort Breckenridge, Ky. His unit, the 101 First Air-Borne Screaming Eagles, was sent to Tokyo, Japan. He was transferred to Korea and served in the Korean conflict. After his term in Korea, he was transferred to Fort Sheridan Ill. While there he was promoted to Staff Sgt. in the Army Military Police. While in Fort Sheridan he received his High school diploma and short radio commission. He received the Occupation Medal of Japan.
On Aug. 25, 1952, he married his teenage sweetheart, Jeannette Suchon, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
He started his employment with Soo-Line Railroad on Jan. 4, 1952, and retired on Oct. 27, 1987. He worked in the mechanical department and was the Laborer Union Leader.
Arthur was on the Board of Directors for the Point Soo Credit Union for 25 years. He enjoyed helping his friends and family in home repairs and remodeling. He was very loyal to his church. He was an usher for St. Stephens Catholic Church for more than 30 years.
He was an active member of the American Legion Post #6 for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed building puzzles, golfing, fishing, and visiting family. He sure loved his only daughter and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette 'Jan' Boursier, of Stevens Point; daughter, Donna (Steven) Kenowski, of Custer; granddaughter, Jenny Ann (Ryan) Solberg; great-grandson, Carter Solberg; Brother, John (Rose Marie) Boursier, of Calif.; his two favorite sisters-in-law, Loretta (Jerry) Buege and Eleanor Cichosz; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert (Linda) Suchon, Tony (Ruth) Suchon, Richard (Barbara) Suchon, Clara Suchon and many nieces and nephews and special nieces, Katie Meshak, Susan Slowinski, and Carol Sniadajewski.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Kenowski; brothers, James and David, and his grandson, Joey Kenowski who was killed in an auto accident on Oct. 16, 1993.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 16, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial with full military honors at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. American Legion Post 6 ritual will be at 6:30 p.m. Parish rosary prayed Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Plover.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Arthur's name will be established at a later date.
