Agnes M. Knitter
Agnes M. Knitter, 100, Wittenberg, died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.
Agnes was born on April 22, 1914 in the town of Alban, Portage County, the daughter of the late Vincent and Maryann (Spranger) Mlodzikowski. On October 26, 1940, Agnes was united in marriage to John Knitter at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Rosholt. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1982.
The couple farmed in the town of Alban for many years until their retirement. Agnes was a wonderful cook. Her homemade pies and chili were always a favorite. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two children, Robert (Mary) Knitter, Eland and Sandra (Ronald) Wierzba, Wittenberg; two grandchildren, Todd (Audrey) Wierzba and Keri (Todd) Check; five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Olivia and Lily Wierzba, Kyle and Macey Check; two step-grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Hoffman; two sisters-in-law, Laura Wolosek and Evelyn Schulist; two brothers-in-law, Harry Bushman and Ray Kenowski.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rosholt. Fr. Gregory Michaud will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at the church.
