Jablonski, Victor

Victor F. Jablonski age 82, passed away Saturday May 3, 2014 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

Funeral services for Vic will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 10, 2014 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Deacon Scott Jablonski will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at the St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The American Legion Post #6 of which he is a member will hold a ritual at 6:30 and the Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church from 9:00 AM to the time of services on Saturday.

Vic was born September 16, 1931 in Stevens Point, the son of Anton and Stella (Wrycha) Jablonski. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1950. Vic entered the United States Air Force June 14, 1951 in Milwaukee. He served his country as a Private and earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorable discharged June 13, 1955 at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, NM. He married Marion Spraitz on June 19, 1954 in Milwaukee. After his honorable discharge, the couple returned to the Stevens Point area. He began his career as an administrative supply technician in the C-Battery National Guard. He retired in 1985. Vic served as past adjutant and past vice commander of Post #6.

He enjoyed playing cribbage, eating out with friends and bumming with Susan and her family.

He is survived by his two children: Thomas (Annette) Jablonski, Oconomowoc and Susan (Richard) Hackbarth, Stevens Point. 7 grandchildren: Deacon Scott Jablonski; Kristen (Ben) Bonkoski; Joseph and Robert Jablonski; Megan and Ty Hackbarth and Paige Deniger-Jablonski. 3 great grandchildren: Brighton, Brielle, and Brea Bonkoski. His sister: Kathleen (Maurice) Eiden, Wausau and his brother Anthony (Carol) Jablonski, Stevens Point. Special friends: Caroline, Virginia, and Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion in 1977, two sons: Brian and Mark. Two brothers: Lawrence and Richard. 3 sisters: Susan, Jean Ann, and Dorothy.
