Of Stevens Point died peacefully late Friday evening May 30, 2014 at the Veterans Home in King. WI. Age 98

Leo was born January 7, 1916 in the Town of Dewey. He was the son of the late Michael and Victoria (Winkler) Ligman. He attended the Wilson school in the Town of Dewey.

Leo entered the United States Army/Air Force on October 20, 1942. He served as a Radio Operator and Mechanic during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 11, 1945.

He married the former Lorraine Kurzynski on May 17, 1941 at St. Peters Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Waukesha where he worked for Waukesha Motors. The couple returned to Stevens Point in 1944 where they resided on Meadow Street for over 58 years. His wife Lorraine preceded him in death on February 28, 1987.

Leo worked for Bake-Rite Company for over 28 years until he retired in 1974.

Leo was a member of the Polish Legion Dubay Post 181 where he served as past commander. He was also a member of the Stevens Point Knights of Columbus McGinley Council 1170 and the St. Peters Holy Name Society. Leo loved gardening, golfing, bowling and playing cards. He was also very faithful to his religion and would attend mass every day.

Survivors include three sons; David (Carol) Ligman of Stevens Point, Ronald (Rose) Ligman of Plover and Kenneth (Diane) Ligman of Schofield. Further survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Leo was the last surviving member of his family. He was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Joseph, Michael and Frank, and three sisters Elizabeth, Regina and Mary and two infant children.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday June 4, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvisam officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter's Church until the time for mass. There will be a Polish Legion Ritual at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday evening followed by the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. Online condolences may be sent by visiting
