Of Custer died Friday morning June 13, 2014, which would have been her 55th wedding anniversary to Alfred, at the North Crest Assisted Living Center.
Age 80 Romona was born October 10, 1933 in Rosholt, WI. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Stanislawski) Witkowski. She attended local schools. As a young lady Romona worked as a bookkeeper for the Polonia Service Garage.
Her marriage to Alfred J. Kluck took place on June 13, 1959 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt.
After their marriage the couple settled in the Custer area. Together they owned and operated Al's & Mona's Friendly Club in Ellis for many years. Her husband Alfred preceded her in death on July 23, 2005.
Romona was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Romona enjoyed reading, baking and bowling, loved casino trips and playing poker. She always looked forward to spending time at her brother's cottage on Lake Helen and reunions with the family. She especially enjoyed spoiling the grandchildren which were very precious to her.
Survivors include four daughters; Lory (Mark) McHugh of Custer, Colleen Weronke of Stevens Point, Melissa (Phil) Johnson of Almond and Kelly (Terry) Johnson of Custer. Two sons; Scott (Lori) Kluck of Custer and Brad (Brenda) Kluck of Rudolph. Nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Romona was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, son-in-law Dale and five sisters and four brothers as she was the last of her family.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Family and friend may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point and from 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church until the time for mass.
