Bette L. Kulas
Bette L. Kulas, age 81, of Stevens Point, died August 6, 2014 at Harmony Living Center.
Bette was born May 21, 1933 to the late Andrew and Janet (Smith) Kulas in Tomahawk, WI. She grew up in Stevens Point, attended the local grade school, and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1951.
At a young age, Bette began working for Fisher Dairy. After high school, Bette found work at Montgomery Wards before finding clerical work with the City of Stevens Point. Her dedication and work ethic advanced her career to additional administrative services. Bette's perseverance led her to the positon of Deputy City Clerk. She worked for the City of Stevens Point for 46 years before retiring.
Bette will be remembered for her outgoing and friendly nature. She enjoyed the company of others, especially spending time with her family. Bette was the family coordinator and enjoyed hosting family events. She loved to cook, and her family loved to enjoy her numerous delicacies. Bette also enjoyed life and growing up on the Wisconsin River. She relished her time on the water, whether it was swimming, waterskiing, or just sitting along the shore. In her spare time she liked to attend to her small flower garden. Bette was a proud member of St Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her siblings, Barbara (Noel) McCormick of Stevens Point, Joyce DeKay of Stevens Point, and David (Judy) Kulas of Plover; nieces and nephews, Lisa Ceplina, John (Lisa) McCormick, Daniel DeKay, Ann Schultz, Brian (Carrie) Kulas, Patrick (Kathy) Kulas, Tim (Audrey) Kulas, and Amy (Steve) Hintz. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers.
A Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Hintzman officiating. A time of visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
