Robert Emrick Obituary
Robert Lee Emrick, 84, of Stevens Point, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Bob was born in Fort Atkinson, on Jan. 19, 1928, the son of Carl August and Eva Alma Mae (Nimmo) Emrick. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1946. Bob served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines as a member of the 2nd Division Marine Band at Camp Lejune, N.C. from June 15, 1946, until he was discharged in May 1948. He was recalled during the Korean Conflict on Dec. 18, 1950, and discharged Dec. 18, 1951. On Sept. 20, 1952, Bob married Bonnie Jean Weum at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton. He worked at Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson for 42 years prior to his retirement. Bob was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and also member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. He was a life member of the Fort Atkinson American Legion Post #166, served as Jefferson County Marine Corps League Commandant, a member of the Fort Atkinson Dance Club, a charter member of the Fort Atkinson City Band, a member of the Jefferson Legion Band for over 50 years, and member of Grendiers Band in Stevens Point. He also played in various trios over the years, and was a Euchre Club member.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Emrick, Stevens Point; son, Dale (Bobbi) Emrick, Plover; daughter, Luanne (Jeffrey) LaRose, Plover; grandchildren, Caitlyn Emrick, Justin Young, David, Elizabeth, Stephen, and Timothy LaRose, Plover; sisters-in-law, Marion Emrick, Fort Atkinson, Susan Weum, Jefferson, and Nancy (Wayne) Schroeder, Plover; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Lloyd Emrick; and brother-in-law, Delbert Weum.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 24, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, with Military Rites to follow. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the church.

A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., Feb. 27, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
