Ramona Elizabeth Kjer, 95, of Plover, died May 6th at St. Michael's Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to the time of service at the church. A general rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Ramona was born November 19, 1916 in Custer, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Lukasavitz) Bronk. She grew up in Custer as the youngest of nine children. She attended school in Custer and Stevens Point. She earned a teaching degree from the University of Stevens Point and worked as a teacher as a young adult. She married Myron "Mike" Kjer on October 9, 1939. They lived on the family homestead until they built a new home in Custer in 1958. She later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years, before retiring.
Ramona was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Altar Society. She also belonged to the Catholic Foresters. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, raising and showing Chinchillas, fishing with her husband Mike and playing cards and scrabble.
Ramona never had children of her own but is survived by many nieces and nephews who had great love, admiration and respect for her and will miss her dearly.
