Kathryn Saddison Obituary
Kathryn J. Saddison

Kathryn (Kay) Saddison, age 88, of Junction City, went to be with her Lord & Savior on February 23, 2013, while surrounded by her family who loved and adored her.

Kathryn was born July 1, 1924 to the late John & Louie (Modert) Baumeister in Burr Oak, MI. Born at an incredibly low birth weight, wrapped in cotton, and placed in a shoebox inside a wood stove, her loving parents & aunts cared for her.

Despite a difficult birth, Kathryn grew up in Burr Oak, MI, attended local schools, and graduated high school at the age of 16. Kathryn joined the Peace Corp. where she received nursing training in Battle Creek, MI. She graduated with her RN degree in 1946.

She married Elmar Saddison on October 3, 1947. They later divorced.

In 1958 they moved their family to Junction City, WI, where they remained on a farm until retirement. They later moved to a lake home in Tomahawk, WI, and spent winters in FL.

Her nursing career included years of work at St. Michael's hospital, area nursing homes, and as a school nurse at the Ruth Gilfry Building. Kathryn put her heart and soul into her work and family. She retired in 1981.

Kathryn will be remembered for her loving heart, tender touch & voice. Her years were filled with family & friends that she loved to entertain, play cards with, and of course, enjoy many wonderful meals together. Kathryn's advanced knitting and crocheting skill have left her family and friends with cherished works including baptismal gowns and baby blankets.

Kathryn was a member of St Pauls Luthern Church in Junction City; St Johns Lutheran Church in Dancy; and was a organist and Sunday School Teacher for both parishes for many years while raising her family..

Survivors include, children Marlene Ecke, Larry (Donna) Saddison, James Saddison, Sam (Jan) Nelson, Barbara (Doug Bradford) Saddison & Mark (Sonya) Saddison; sister, Ruth Perry; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Baumeister.

A Funeral Service paying tribute to her life will be held 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Brei officiating. A time of sharing memories will also be held on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Burr Oak Cemetery, Michigan.
