June E. Klish age 86, of Stevens Point passed away March 20, 2013 at the Portage County Health Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial for June will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 25, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 9:00 - 9:45 AM at the church.
June was born June 25, 1926 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Erven and Helen (Peabody) Redding. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1944. June married Robert Klish on Janurary 4, 1947 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. She began her career at AT&T as an operator in 1952 and retired in 1978. June was a member of Sweet Adelines for many years and contributed her talent in making costumes for the performances. She made hundreds of birthday, communion, and wedding cakes for family and friends, was an accomplished artist, and enjoyed sewing clothes and costumes for family and for special occasions. She enjoyed her summers camping at Crystal Lake where she could spend her days watching and listening to the loons. The love of her life was family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed any of their school or sporting events. Later in life she enjoyed playing BINGO, the card game 31, and Rummikub.
June is survived by 2 sons: George (Sue) Klish, Rob (Sue) Klish, 2 daughters Lark (Tom) Hopp and Kathy Klish all of Stevens Point. 11 grandchildren: Tom (Molly) Klish and their children Leah and Emily of Three Rivers, MI, Brian (Stacy) Klish and their children Brenden and Benett, Ken (Jodi) Klish and their daughters Emily Rose and Kaylee, Stevens Point, Tracy (Travis) Niekamp and their children Tye, Dexter, and Brooke of Monroe, LA, Kevin (Daylyn) Hopp and their children Sarah and Ben of Stevens Point, Jackie (Bill) Schmiedlin and son Charlie of Shakopee, MN, Casey (Cristin) Hopp and their son Ryan of Verona, WI, Jennie Klish, Jessie (Jeff) Marshall, Steve Klish, all of Stevens Point, and Adam Hopp, Wauwatosa, WI. Three sisters: Lucille Knudtson, Mary Redding, both of Stevens Point, and Dorothy (Jim) Jajewski, Ripon. Two brothers: Erv (Pat) Redding and Dick Redding, both of Stevens Point. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert in 2011.
