Kutella, Edward W.
Edward W. Kutella age 87, of Stevens Point passed away Tuesday morning March 26, 2013 at the Portage County Health Care Center where he has resided the past week.
Funeral services for Edward will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday March 30, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel and again Saturday from 9:00 - 10:15 AM at the church. The Knights of Columbus of which Edward is a member will pray the rosary Friday evening at 6:00, at the funeral home. A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established at a later date.
Edward was born October 1, 1925 in the Town of Carson, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Olszewski) Kutella. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Edward married Eleanore Polum on October 16, 1954 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and Edward worked at Smith Motors and Dairy State Market (IGA), before his 35 year career at Worzalla Publishing where he retired in 1991. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, sang in the St. Joseph adult Resurrection Choir, and held memberships in P.A.R.R and the N.R.A. For many years he played in local Polka and Old Tyme Bands. He loved hunting and fishing at the family cabin up north, in Canada, and in North Dakota.
Edward is survived by his wife Elaenore, and their daughter: Susan (Steven) Nilsen, Lisbon, ND. and his sister-in-law Kathleen Kutella, Stevens Point He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen (Ray) Kozlowski and his brother Joseph.
