Roger Konkol, age 62 of Stevens Point, WI passed away Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at his residence.
Roger was born on September 10, 1950 the son of Conrad and Irene (Kurszewski) Konkol. Roger grew up in the Amherst area. After high school he entered the military, and then served in Vietnam as a medic. Upon returning home he worked as an orderly at the Veteran's Home in King. Discovering his passion for building, he started his own construction business and continued that for years. Roger put his life second to others. He was empathetic and was always there if you needed him. He cherished his sons Rob and Mike and nieces and nephews, and treated his nephew Austin like his son.
Roger is survived by his sons; Robert Konkol of Stevens Point, WI; Michael (Carey) Konkol of Wauwatosa, WI; brothers; Randy (Terri) Konkol of Knowlton, WI; Jeff Konkol of Amherst, WI; sisters; Joan (Glen) Antilla of Gladstone, WI; Jane Andrews (Paul Swetalla) of Madison, WI; Debbie (son-Austin) Konkol of Stevens Point, WI; Denise (Randy) Glisczinski of Amherst, WI; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 30th at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. Father Robert Pedretti will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, April 29th at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of mass at 11:00 am at the church.
