Carlstrom, Arnold D.

Arnold David Carlstrom, age 66, died peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home in Menasha.

Arnold was the devoted son of the late David and Antoinette (Zadlo) Carlstrom. He was born October 20, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Arnold was a Stevens Point High School graduate and served his country with the US Army from February 1966 to February 1968 in Europe. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1984 to Jeannie Merholtz on the family farm near Stevens Point. Besides farming, Arnold also worked for a couple of furniture manufacturers in the Stevens Point area and was a Volunteer Fireman for the Town of Dewey Fire Department. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed hunting.

Arnold was a loving and caring husband of Jeannie for 29 years and a fabulous step-father to: Annette (Karl) Huiting, Appleton; Jon Malliet, Stevens Point; step-grandfather to: Ryan (fiancée Lyndsey) Malliet, Jay (Rebecca) Malliet, both of Clintonville, and Carson Huiting, Appleton, a brother-in-law to: James (Barb) Merholtz, Clintonville; and a sister-in-law, Sandi (Roy) Starks, Green Bay and by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends.

A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. William Hoffman officiating. Military Honors will follow the service. Arnold's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
