Simonson, Marlene

Marlene King Simonson, 74, of Plover passed away on October 3, 2014 at the Stevens Point Care Center with her family at her side. She was born on April 30, 1940 in Stevens Point to late Stanley and Helen (Zelewski) King. She attended St Peters Grade School and graduated from Maria high school in 1958. On September 8, 1962 she married Joseph De George and they settled in Milwaukee where she worked for Milwaukee County. On September 27, 1990 she married David A. Simonson. She retired in 1995 and moved back to Stevens Point. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband David, three sons; Dean (Linda) De George of Plover, Gary De George of Milwaukee, and David (Mary) De George of Stevens Point. Two grandchildren; Emily and Zachary De George of Plover, three brothers; James (Jean) King of Plainfield, Clifford (Karen) King, of Mosinee, and Rick (Carleen) King, of Stevens Point, three sisters; Louise (Henry) Hughlett, of Junction City, Patricia (Gerald) Lind of Plover and Karyn King of Fulton, MD, along with eighteen nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life Mass will be held on October 17, 2014 at St Peters Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 with Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church one hour before the mass.

Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time.
