James Glodowski Obituary

Glodowski, James L.

Tribute to

James L. Glodowski

August 26, 1941 -

February 6, 2015

James passed away peacefully following his courageous battle with COPD and Parkinson's disease. He and his wife, Carol, took great pleasure spending their winters in Arizona and summers in Minocqua, WI, where they owned and operated a gift shop on the lake for many years. James enjoyed playing cards, golf, baseball games, and short trips to the casino. He also enjoyed his Packer games and John Wayne movies.

James served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960-1966 and shortly after began his career as a plumber. He is survived by his wife, Carol and children, Tim (Wendy) Rutkowski, Mary Buser, Nancy (David) Strickland, John Rutkowski, Susan Rutkowski, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog "Shadow". James is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice Glodowski and his son, James Rutkowski.

A private family ceremony was held at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2015, to celebrate the life of James as a husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. A special thank you to the staff at the Appleton Medical Center for all the compassionate care given to James. Jim touched the lives of so many people with his grin, sense of humor and love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which James fondly supported.

"Jim you were my everything, and no one could have loved me more than you. You taught me such beautiful ways of showing love in our every day life. Now that you are no longer in pain I can smile again too." I love you- Carol

If I am correct, I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Northern Auto years ago. He was a man of goodwill, competence and a joy to work with. May his memory be eternal.
