Elizabeth Mocadlo Obituary

Mocadlo, Elizabeth "Betty"

Elizabeth "Betty" Mocadlo, 89, was called home to the Lord on the morning of March 7, 2015, at The Lodge at Whispering Pines with family at her side.

Betty was born in Stevens Point on Sept. 10, 1925, to the late Alois and Mary (Gburek) Pezewski. She attended and graduated from the Town of Stockton Rural Grade School in 1940.

On Nov. 4, 1950, her marriage to Carl Mocadlo took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. They celebrated 55 years of married life prior to Carl preceding her in death on Feb. 26, 2006.

Betty worked alongside her loving husband on the family dairy farm. Her greatest love was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caregiver, always putting others' needs first.

She was an excellent cook, always offering a meal to whomever would stop for a visit. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, writing poetry, reading and listening to music. Her dedication to her family, generosity and thoughtfulness will always be remembered and cherished.

Betty was devout in her faith, celebrating Mass regularly; and was a long-standing member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society for 60 years.

Survivors include her children, Theresa (Mike) Worzalla of Stevens Point, Aggie (Tom) Burkart of Plover, Ann (Steve) Werra of Plover, Carl (Lisa) Mocadlo Jr. of Bancroft, Elizabeth Filtz of Stevens Point, and Joe (Lori) Mocadlo of Bancroft; grandchildren, Michael and James Worzalla, Barbara Berghammer, Amanda Hussain, Crystal Mocadlo, Nathan, Ryan and Jennifer Werra, Nikki, Anthony and Seth Filtz, Samantha, Joey, Jacob, Emily and Zachary Mocadlo; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bellinger, Rose (Victor) Byczynski, Sophie Kubisiak and Ann (Tony) Drefcinski; brother, Ben Pezewski; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Pezewski and Jenny Mocadlo; brothers-in-law, Leonard Kubowski, John and Hubert Mocadlo.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her daughters, Suzanne Mocadlo and Lillian Mocadlo; sisters, Frances Modrzewski, Veronica Kubowski and Esther Sankey; brothers, Steve, Anton, Albert and Alois Pezewski.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Holy Spirit Parish (St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 838 Freemont St., Stevens Point). Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second St., Stevens Point, and again at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time for Mass. The St. Stanislaus Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

What a beautiful life and obituary. So well written and so true. She was such a loving lady and a second Mom to so many of us that she welcomed into her home. We were all lucky to have known her.

Our deepest sympathy to Carl & Lisa and the whole Mocadlo family.

Love, Al and Tammy Jankowski

My Sister, what can I say,Her being one of the older girls and our Mom died so young, I ran to Elizabeth for advice many times, and busy as she was always had time for me,I spend many summers at their farm watching the children as she worked the fields with her Husband,Silly things like her teaching me how to hand milk a cow,I feel honored and took pride to have been able to care for her children while she worked the fields or cooking 3 full meals every day { everyone sitting at the big table }Thank You Sister { my Friend} now it is time you spent with Your Family in Heaven , still watching over all of us. In my eyes you always were a Saint and always will be. Rest in Peace. I Love You.

I have good childhood memories of visiting Auntie Betty and Uncle Carl on the family homestead. They took good care of my Grandparents along with raising a loving family. A fine example of a good life. Job well done!
