McCann, Lillian A.

Lillian Arlene McCann, age 93 of Stevens Point, died Thursday March 19, 2015, at Harmony Assisted Living in Stevens Point where she has resided since 2013. She was under the care of Heartland Hospice. Lillian was born on April 7, 1921 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Benon and Dorothy (Gavin) Lukaszevig.

She attended St. Peter School and St. Joseph Academy graduating in 1939.

Her marriage to Edward C. McCann took place on October 26, 1943, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Galveston, Texas, until his death on December 26, 2004.

Lillian worked for Hardware Mutual (now Sentry Insurance) after high school for four years, then spent 27 years, off and on, as a bookkeeper for Herber C. Ragsdale, C.P.A. which became Timm and Company, she then worked for 8 years in the finance office of the Stevens Point Country Club retiring in 1984.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #6. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, crossword puzzles, enjoyed watching sports especially baseball and football.

Survivors include her children; Judi (Bill) Opiola, Tom (Mary) McCann and Kari (Jeff) Bachinski. 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Lukaszevig of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Bonnie Simonis and two brothers, Robert and John "Jack" Lukaszevig.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday March 24, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church. Pisarski Funeral Homes is honored to be serving the family.
