One of my favorite "Phyllis-isms" was said after my husband and I moved back to STL to help out with my ailing and failing parents, her dear friends and bridge partners, Carrie and Monte Lopata. She said, "Everyone needs a "Heidi" in their family!" Another favorite was after I had lost 20 pounds I was so happy when I told her... until she pronounced, "Well, it's a start..."

Phyllis was a wonderful bridge partner, but was far more a wonderful friend. Her kindnesses were many, and much appreciated. She will be missed.
