What a shocker. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon this site. I'm sorry to say that Scot and I had drifted apart after law school. He graduated a year behind me. I always knew him to be smart and quick with a laugh. I am very sorry for your loss. Bruce DeGroot

I went to law school with Scot ("Flash") and talked to him recently. So sad. I'll miss not having him at our fantasy draft. Who else is going to draft Kurt Warner? My deepest sympathies. Matt Rossiter

I am so sorry about Scot's passing. I met Scot during our first year of law school (where he was affectionately nicknamed “Flash”) and have had the fortune to be able to call him my very good friend for the past 20 years. I will always remember the great times I had with him whether it was simply hanging out at Ozzies watching the NFL on Sundays, talking to him on the phone while watching the Cardinals during the playoffs, or traveling with him on numerous occasions to Vegas where we would watch the NCAA tournament and laugh together for days. It is hard to imagine doing a fantasy football draft and not having Scot enter the room with the comment, “It's cold in here. There must be a draft.” There are so many fond memories I have of Scot over the past two decades that I could go on and on, but most notably, his positive outlook on life, his unique sense of humor, and his ability to make me laugh in a way that no one else could will be missed every day of my life and impossible to replace. I am truly saddened by our loss. My heartfelt sympathy is with Scot's family and if there is anything I can do, please let me know.

I remember racing Scot in our multiplication tables in gradeschool... don't think we ever fully decided who was faster! And I remember acting out a sequel to "Star Wars" that he had written when we were in 2nd grade. I played Luke, he played Han, and we all gave Scot grief because he had the Empire winning at the end. Imagine that! The Empire striking back....

We met again briefly in the library when I was finishing my Ph.D. at St. Louis University, with not enough time to share all the things we'd like to say.

I grieve for your loss and I will treasure these and countless other memories even more dearly, as I'm sure you do. Peace be with you.
