Godfrey, Irma C. (nee Bonicelli) age 89, home with the Lord on June 29, 2014. Loving daughter of the late Carlo A. and Lucia S. Bonicelli (nee Spada) of Chisholm, MN; beloved wife of the late Honorable Michael F. Godfrey Sr.; dear mother of Michael F. Godfrey Jr. (Madonna, nee Meyer) and Paul F. Godfrey; sister of the late Orlando A. Bonicelli (Geraldine, nee Beaumont) and twin sister of Ida G. (the late Anthony J.) Trigiani (nee Bonicelli); sister-in-law of the late James E. Godfrey Sr. (Ellen, nee Higgins); our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin, sisterin-law and friend to many. Irma was a 1946 graduate of the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Library Science. She was a librarian at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and St. Raphael the Archangel Elementary School, St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of the choir at this parish. Irma was a charter member and historian of the St. Louis Hills Investment Club. She was a past president of the St. Louis Chapter of the Catholic Library Association, later serving on the National Executive Board and ultimately, National President. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Easter Seals Midwest, 13545 Barrett Parkway Dr., Suite 300, Ballwin, MO 63021-9800, are greatly appreciated. Also in Irma's memory, please show kindness and regard to your fellow man. The Godfrey family would like to thank the staff at Mary Queen and Mother Center, and Crossroads Hospice for their kind care given to Irma. Services and burial were private for family only. Mike and family, Im so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Irma, but heard enough wonderful stories to feel as though I knew her. May God bless you and your family, and may you all feel peace and comfort during this hard time.
