Dean, Gerald (Jerry) Edward September 11, 1933 February 4, 2013. Jerry Dean was born and raised in Alton, Illinois. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Owens-Illinois his entire career. In 1981 he moved to Mountain Top, Pennsylvania and then moved back to the area in 2010. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beulah Marie (Ewers) Dean, his beloved daughter, Carol Sue Dean and his parents Edward Dean and Eleanor Dean. He is survived by his dearest daughters Sheryl Schaefer (Tom), Paula Kyzer, and Pam Dotzel (Terry); dear grandfather of Kristin Crowley (Rob), Michael Schaefer (Sarah Link), Jeremy Dean (Crystal), Melissa Kyzer, Paul Kyzer, Jr., Joshua Dotzel, and Kyle Dotzel; dear great-grandfather of Jeremy Dean, Jr., Jocelyn Dean, Audrey Schaefer, G. W. Myers, Jr, and Aybel Dean; brother of Carol Ann Rynders; dear uncle, great uncle and loyal friend to many. Services: Family and friends were received on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Maryland Heights, Missouri from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. with a VFW service at 11:30. Interment was at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 1308 in Alton, Illinois. Please make checks payable to VFW Post 1308 and send the contributions to the attention of Sheryl (Dean) Schaefer, P.O. Box 1074, Lusby, MD 20657 and they will be sent to the post on your behalf.
