Langsam, Sigmond Sterling Passed away May 20, 2015. Beloved husband of Esther Salzberg Langsam, dearest father of Barbara Langsam (Michael) Shuman and David (Jayne) Langsam. Cherished grandfather of Amanda Shuman, Jessica Langsam and Rebecca Langsam. Beloved brother of Perline Langsam, dear brother-in-law of Marjorie (Morris) Richman, son of the late Flora and David D. Langsam. Our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Raised in Webster Groves, he was a star pitcher with Webster Groves High School's varsity baseball team throughout high school. Signed with the Boston Braves after high school and played for the team's farm clubs. Served in combat infantry during World War II. Graduated Washington University's Olin School of Business. Launched successful career in apparel business. Later founded Snelling Personnel Services on Brentwood. Devoted to his family, lifelong baseball fan and champion of those in need. LaBrier, Gene Edward 87, of Chesterfield, MO passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015, with his loving wife Edna at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna, of Chesterfield; two sons, Larry (Nancy) LaBrier, of Clayton, MO and Robert (Deborah) LaBrier of Salinas, CA.; 4 grand- children, Jeffrey (Kimberly) LaBrier, Lindsay (James) Danner, Ross LaBrier, Ashley LaBrier; and 5 greatgrandchildren, Brooklyn, Elisabeth and Charles Edward LaBrier and Nolan and Stephen Edward Danner; his sister Kathleen (Tom) Bozeman, of Fairview Heights, IL, as well as his uncle, brother-in-law, cousins, nephew and many friends and extended family, the Rapoports of Las Vegas, NV. Gene was born on February 26, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Ross and Miley (Frye) LaBrier. He served in the United States Army. Gene was united in marriage on December 29, 1950 to Edna Brooks of East St. Louis, IL. Gene was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from East St Louis High School and Ranken Jordan Technical School. He was a licensed machinist and worked in industry in the St. Louis area. He enjoyed many years living and working in the gaming industry, in Las Vegas, NV. Gene was an ordained deacon and long time member of Winstanley Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, IL. Gene was a numismatist, and an avid bridge player. He will be remembered as a loving family man, a friendly soul with a great sense of humor and charming wit. Services: A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Lake View Memorial Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be given to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Winstanley Baptist Church Building Fund.
