Malone, Carol "Susie"  
Malone, Carol Susie Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Nov. 1, 1935 - Jan. 22, 2015. Beloved cousin and dearest friend. Carol (known to her family as Susie) graduated from City House (Academy of the Sacred Heart). She received her BS degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Carol retired from Southwestern Bell Corporation (AT&T) after 31 years. In retirement, Carol volunteered at Mercy Hospital (St. John's Mercy) for over 10 years. In October, 2001, she began volunteering with the Senior Jesuits in Fusz Pavilion at Jesuit Hall continuing until very recently. These years brought her much joy. Services: Visitation at the ORTMANN STIPANOVICH Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Mon., Jan. 26 from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Gerard Majella Church, 1969 Dougherty Ferry Rd., Kirkwood, Tues., Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior to Mass. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Jesuits of the Central and Southern Province, 4511 West Pine Blvd., St., Louis, MO 63108. Mazzarese, Thomas A. January 18, 2015. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of the late Rosary Mazzarese (nee Mirabella). Loving father of Salvatore (Ellen) Mazzarese, Joanne (Jim) Gianopulos and Anna Hughes; grandfather of Tom (Hope) and Mike Mazzarese, Lisa (Craig) Graves, and Nick (Susan) and Philip Longo and Marty, Jr. (Anna), Joe (Becky), and Tony (Kassy) Hughes; great-grandfather of Trey, Isabella, Alexandra, Justin, Dominic, Isabella, Victoria, Sarah, Marty III and Kylee; predeceased by his siblings. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, greatuncle, cousin & friend. Mr. Mazzarese served in the U.S. Army 1942-1945 during the RomeArno, Southern France, Rhineland, Central Europe, & Naples-Foggia Campaigns where he was awarded several medals including 5 Bronze Stars. Tom retired from the Coca-Cola Company. Services: Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church, 2650 Parker Rd., Florissant, MO 63033. Visitation at church 9:15 a.m., until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to American Heart Association preferred. Merrell, The Rev. Dr. James L.  
Merrell, The Rev. Dr. James L. 84, of Kirkwood, entered God's Kingdom January 19, 2015 (MLK Day). He died peacefully at home with family and the BJC Hospice Team. Beloved husband of 63 years to Barbara; treasured father of Deborah Griffin Gibbar (David); Cynthia Archer; and Stuart (Nancy) Merrell. Dearest Grandpa to Joshua (Maura) Griffin; Daniel (Lauren) Griffin; Natalie & Christian Archer; and Nathan & Cami Merrell. Proud and loving GreatGrandpa to Ella, William, Julia and Violet. He is survived by brother-inlaw Walter Ballew & family, and cousin Carole Linneman and family. Jim celebrated his 63rd year of ministry in 2015. His creative sermons, weddings and funeral services were famous for being to the point, enlightening, and relating to life. Jim lead religious group tours, visiting over 57 countries including five trips to The Holy Land. Most of all, he was an avid Indiana University basketball fan! In between his many jobs and duties, Jim was a non stop volunteer. He was always full of hope, upbeat, humble and grateful for God's blessings of family, church, music (he sang in many choirs), and education. Jim was listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Religion. Born in Indianapolis in 1930, Jim was always an award winning student writer and editor in high school and at Indiana University (class of 1952). He was a member of Sigma Delta Chi journalism fraternity, and PKA fraternity. Jim graduated with Master of Divinity from the former Butler University School of Religion (now CTS) in Indianapolis in 1956, but was ordained in 1955. In 1972, Jim received an honorary Doctor of Letters from Culver-Stockton College, Canton, Mo. Jim worked for the Christian Church Disciples of Christ from 1956 onward, both in Indianapolis and Saint Louis; served as editor of the World Call magazine; and in St. Louis as Vice President at Christian Board of Publication. Jim retired from The Disciple magazine in 1994, and served as interim minister at the following St. Louis area churches: First Christian Church, Granite City; Villa Ridge Christian Church; Hamilton Christian Church (Creve Coeur) and Affton Christian Church. He also served as interim chaplain and professor at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.; interim minister at Friedens UCC, Warrenton, Mo.; St. Johns UCC in Mehlville; Redeemer Evangelical Church in South St. Louis; and finally at Trinity UCC in Affton. A favorite event as Jim neared complete retirement was Senator Lugar's invitation in Oct., 2009, to deliver the opening prayer in the Senate Chambers, a true high note for an incredible career. Jim retired permanently at the of age 80- 1/2 . Special thanks to Phil Lawson and Karin Lindahl of Kirkwood UMC; BJC Hospice team & volunteers; and special helper Buddy Haerod. Mueller, Henry Bernard age 71, died Friday January 16, 2015 in O'Fallon, Missouri. Mr. Mueller was born August 30, 1943 in St. Charles, Missouri to Herman O. and Catherine M. Mueller (nee Arhens). Dear father and father-in-law of Michael Mueller, Angie (Dave) Didion, Jim (Angela) Stassi, Josh Kerivan, Jennifer Robertson. Dear brother of George, Bob, Richard, Jerry, Cindy, Don Mueller and Anne Zeisler. Dear grandfather of nine. Mr. Mueller is preceded in death by his loving parents, his loving daughter Angie, and a loving sibling Pat Mueller. Services are private.
