Abdelhamid, Nabil S.
Abdelhamid, Nabil S. born April 21, 1948, ended his courageous battle with cancer on June 14, 2016. Nabil passed peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted partner, Bonnie Abdelhamid, and his beloved children, Mona Doshi and Sharif Abdelhamid (both of Denver, CO). He is also survived by his dear sister, Gilan (Atif) Karim of Wildwood, his former wife and mother of his children, Karen Knox of DeSoto, daughter-in-law, Marissa Vasquez of Denver, son-in-law, Milan Doshi of Denver, nieces Amy Karim and Angie Nasr of Los Angeles, nephew Omar Karim of Wildwood, and an extended family in Cairo, Egypt. Born in Cairo, Egypt, Nabil's young life was driven by his desire to emigrate to America. Those dreams were realized in 1971; he came to St. Louis where he spent the remainder of his life, raising his family and building his career. Nabil was founder and President of a successful financial planning firm, Legends Financial Services, Wildwood, MO. Known for his infectious smile and gregarious personality, Nabil never met a stranger. He lived his life with passion, unending enthusiasm and a generous spirit. He was the patriarch of his family both here and in Egypt, and a trusted friend and advisor to many. His passing has left a void that will never be filled. Services: A prayer service was held on June 15 at The Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis, with private interment following. The family has identified two charities where donations may be made to honor Nabil's life: Cancer Research Institute ( ) which conducts research to advance cancer immunotherapy treatment. Patient Care Fund at Washington University's Siteman Cancer Center ( ) which assists patients being treated there with living expenses, transportation, etc. A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
