Hagan, Lillian Louise Lillian Louise Hagen, nee Lillian Louise Mercier born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 18, 1915 to Lillian Augusta (Stiepany) and Charles Andrew Mercier. She lived a vibrant and active life until she passed away in her home of 70 years in Cockrell Hill (Dallas), Texas on Friday, June 26, 2015. Youthful days were spent in Missouri gathering a circle of close friendships that endured for a lifetime (Bea, Lizzie, Agnes, Bear and Thelma). She later replicated this friendship circle with Maydean, Adeline, Ruth, Margaret and Frances. At Jennings High School and ahead of trends she was actively engaged in tennis, softball and basketball and also horse-back riding in Estes Park, Colorado. Early on she prepared for a business career by attending Draughon's Practical Business College. Her secretarial skills were used in high school, her father's law practice and other legal offices. She retired at the age of 70 as executive secretary to the chairman of the board of Lone Star Life Insurance Company. Lillian Hagan as a volunteer served as the first official secretary of the Cockrell Hill (United) Methodist Church. Postretirement she served as a volunteer at the information desk of Methodist Hospital Central for 13 years. An avid reader of the Dallas Morning News and contemporary biographies, she was always conversationally insightful. As a super fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, she stayed abreast of all sporting activities. Remarkably generous and caring, she cherished family and friends. As a member of the Great Generation as a child she witness the end of World War I, experienced the Great Depression, was the bride of a Calvary Soldier in World War II and continued to follow world events. She was predeceased by her husband John R. Hagan. She is survived by son; Charles Berg, daughters; Sherry Berg and Barbara Reading, grandsons; Jeremy Wilson and Kevin Reading, great-granddaughter; Mila Penelope Wilson. Hecht, Margaret Ann 75, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Services: Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m, Monday July 6th 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, with service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Margaret was born January 11, 1940, in St Louis, MO;, and married Glenn Hecht in March 1968. They moved to Columbia, where they operated a moving and storage company. Margaret was involved in a restaurant business, and very active in politics. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Dyer, and her late husband, Glenn Hecht in 1981. Survivors include her two children Eric Hecht, daughter Megan Staszcuk and her husband Steve, two grandchildren Noah and Sophie Staszcuk all of Columbia, MO, and brothers Jerry Dyer (Linda) and Steve Dyer (Patricia).
