Becker, Lorraine E. (nee Shaver) Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Harry R. Becker for 67 years; mother of Roy Becker, Gail (John) Nackel, and Edith (Edward Singer) Becker; grandmother of Melissa and Allison Nackel, and William and Gwendolyn Singer; sister of Ruth Raidt and Nancy (Robert) Hemeyer; dear aunt, cousin, and friend. Lorraine is preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Shaver, Ronald Shaver, and Evelyn Seigel. In lieu of flowers, memorial masses or contributions to a charity of donor's choice are preferred. Services: Wednesday, leaving John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 7027 Gravois Ave (63116), 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Bussmann, Edwina Wright  
Bussmann, Edwina Wright Passed away on August 24, 2015 at the age of 92, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, surrounded by family. Beloved spouse of the late James F. Bussmann, dear mother of Barb Donohue (Terry), Bill Bussmann (Sue), David Bussmann (Ada) and Paul Bussmann (Shari) and wonderful grandmother of Brian Donohue (deceased), Neal Donohue; Lauren (Bussmann) Reid; Ezra, Silas, Tyler and Ava Bussmann. Daughter of the late Edwin & Jane (Jolley) Wright, sister of the late Mary Jane (Fred) Schleich. Dear aunt, cousin, sister in law and friend of many. Edwina graduated magna cum laude from Fontbonne College in 1944. She later served as reporter for Women's Wear Daily and editor of the McDonnell Aircraft Corp. news magazine. In 1945, Edwina married the love of her life, Jim. A dedicated and highly creative mom, Edwina was always involved in her kid's activities and education. As a community volunteer, Edwina was a creative spark behind a variety of fundraising events for numerous local charities and institutions. A lifelong learner, she attended classes on a variety of subjects until the time of her death. Beginning in the late 1970's, she and Jim enjoyed an annual winter getaway to Naples, Fl. where she relished landscape painting, golf, tennis and sunshine with their many St. Louis friends and neighbors. Jim passed away in 2006 and in 2014 Edwina moved to Aberdeen Heights retirement community, Kirkwood. Heartfelt thanks to the special people and caregivers at The Glen. Services: Private burial at Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial Mass in Edwina's honor will be celebrated at Immacolata Church, 8900 Clayton Road, on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. Family visitation will precede Mass, from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are appreciated to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center for the Children's Fund, 3800 Park Ave., 63110 or Fontbonne University, 6800 Wydown Blvd., 63105.

Crowley Jr., Raymond L. "Larry"  
Crowley, Raymond L. Larry Jr. Retired editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, travel guide, dad, foxy grampa and foxy great-grampa. Preceded in death by his wife Juanita (nee Townsend - 1974) and more recently his second wife Dorotheau Doris M. Crowley (nee Hurst-Riley 2010), his son Michael, his parents Raymond and Alice Crowley, his sisters Jean Antonmattei, Patricia Clark and Marcia Crowley and his brother Robert Bob. Larry and Juanita had six children and lost one early in pregnancy, Mary Alicia (Michael) Maloney, Raymond L. (Linda) Crowley III, Michael J. (Margaret), John J. C. (Becky), Patrick F. X. and Rose Ann (Richard) Hausmann. Six grandchildren, John, Matthew and Bradley Maloney, Robert Hausmann (at rest in Christ), Sarah Hausmann and Sean Crowley. Five great-grandchildren, Hope, Lauran, Kaitlin, Courtney and Elijah. When World War II started dad joined the Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman. He worked at the Naval Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Dad was assigned to help build a hospital in the Azores but contracted Scarlet Fever the night before he was to deploy. He found out a few years later from one of his friends who did go on that deployment that the deployment was for the Normandy Invasion. Dad was then selected to be a corpsman by the Marines and after his training at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina moved to Camp Pendleton California where he was then deployed to the Pacific theater. Dad was riding to the beach for the invasion of the Japanese mainland when the word came down that the Japanese surrendered. When the war was over dad married Juanita Bartose (nee Towsend) and had six children. To support his growing family dad worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He had been a Police Reporter, worked on the Everyday section and eventually moved to the TV Magazine. When you sent a letter to the editor you were communicating with my dad. Juanita passed away in 1974 from complications from brain cancer. Dad became friends with Dorotheau Doris Riley (nee Hurst) who also worked at the Post. After about a year dad and Doris got married and were happily married for 36 years. Doris and then dad retired from the Post-Dispatch and they both went to work in the travel business where they enjoyed traveling around the world. Doris passed away five years ago from complications related to Alzheimer's while sharing a room with dad at the Mary Queen and Mother Center. Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Thursday, September 3, 7-9 p.m. then taken to Mary Queen and Mother Center, 7601 Watson Rd. Friday, September 4, for visitation from 11 a.m. until Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
