Jones, Louise Marie  
Jones, Louise Marie (nee Basile) died Monday, April 13, at Mother of Good Counsel Home, St. Louis. Louise was born March 18, 1923, in St. Louis, a daughter of Tony and Theresa (Beer) Basile. Survived by: her children, Michael L. Jones, Thomas R. (Nancy) Jones, Nancy J. (Richard) Kettenbrink and Pamela K. (James) Freeman; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Jones. Services: A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel at Mother of Good Counsel Home, 6825 Natural Bridge Road, St. Louis, 63121. Family will receive friends immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mother of Good Counsel Home.

Jurkiewicz, John J. "Jack"  
Jurkiewicz, John J. Jack This good, loving and wonderful man will be deeply missed by so many. Born in 1922 and baptized into the Hope of Christ Resurrection Church, Jack died at home and at peace April 13, 2015. Jack was the beloved husband of late wife, Joan Jurkiewicz (nee Connolly) and cherished father and father-in-law to their eight children and spouses: Jan (Tom) Olivier, Michael (Chrissy) Jurkiewicz, Jill (Frank) Leo, Lisa (Ric) Henry, Lynn Frank, Lori (Steve) Turner, Wendy (Ed) Scavuzzo, John (Carla) Jurkiewicz. He delighted in his 19 grandchildren: Jordan, Jaime, Claire, Connolly, Jack, Caitlin, Jack, Carlye, Molly, Jared, Maddy, Emma, Olivia, Jenna, Lorrin, Mira, Dominic, Ava, Ally and great grandchild, Darcy. Jack was the dear brother of Delores (Dan) Trigg and loving brother-in-law to Debby (Ray) Nute. He will always be remembered by long time friends John and Barbara Becker, and as a dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. His kindness, faith, and unconditional love will remain in our hearts and cherished memories forever. Services: Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Incarnate Word Church, 13416 Olive Blvd. Chesterfield on Monday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation: At the Church 1 hour prior to Mass. Lamming, Alice  
Lamming, Alice 97, of West Grove, PA died peacefully in her sleep on Friday April 3, 2015. She was born to John and Victoria Michalek in Chicago in 1917 and grew up in Benton Harbor, MI. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1935 and during her teens and early twenties was a concert violinist with the House of David orchestra in Benton Harbor and a soloist at many venues. She also played the balalaika and piano. Alice worked as an executive legal secretary in Chicago for the firm now known as Baker & McKenzie, the largest law firm in the world, and during World War II worked for the Polish consulate in Los Angeles for a year. She was fluent in Polish since that language was spoken in her parents' home. English was her second language, which she learned after she started school. Before moving to Pennsylvania in 2013, Alice had lived in the St. Louis area for over sixty years, most recently in Kirkwood, and previously in Lake Saint Louis and Warson Woods. Alice married John Hunter Lamming, a Navy veteran of World War II and an electrical engineer, in Chicago in 1946. She was a devoted homemaker and in later years worked as an executive secretary at the Binkley Company and as a secretary at Monsanto Company. She was a member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed classical music, literature, and the company of friends and family. She is remembered especially for her lively intellect, wide ranging interests, hunger for knowledge, devotion to her family, and her ability to connect deeply with other people. Alice was preceded in death by her son Tom of Lake Saint Louis. She is survived by her son Bob (Elizabeth) of Clifton, NJ; son John (Anne) of Hockessin, DE; daughter Jean Lamming of San Francisco; daughter-in-law Lee of Lake Saint Louis; grandson John Lamming (Melissa) of San Francisco and their children, Avalon, Caspian, Arcadia and Cyprian; grandson Fred Lamming (Lindsey) of Denver and their children Nathan and Thomas; grandson Ian Lamming of San Francisco; grandson Luke Lamming (Margaret) of Denver; granddaughter Ruth Sappelt (Josh) of San Francisco; grandson Peter Lamming of Chicago; grandson Colin Lamming of St. Louis; grandson Zach Lamming of Brooklyn, NY; grandson Sethe Lamming of Philadelphia; granddaughter Grace Lamming of Chicago. Leyhe, Louise Kraus 97, Born November 6, 1917, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Louise was the beloved wife of the late Fred Henry Leyhe, a loving mother to her two daughters, Mary L. Burke (Richard) and Nancy L. Allen (Chris), and adored grandmother of Michael Leyhe Burke, Sarah Anne Burke, John Christopher Allen, Jr. and Elizabeth Allen Rogers, and great grandmother of 10, Ane, Clara, Luke, Tom and Finn Burke, Ellie, Lila and Polly Allen, Abby and Carter Rogers and sister of J. Robert Kraus and the late Eleanor Kraus Hoffman. As her granddaughter Beth Rogers wrote, "On Tuesday morning, heaven gained another angel, our sweet grandma. She will be deeply missed by all of us. An amazing lady with style, grace, humility and a heart full of gold. We are so thankful for our relationships and getting to have her in our life for so many years. Grandma, we will forever love you and miss you dearly." Louise grew up in Webster Groves, MO, a graduate of Webster Groves High School and Washington University where she met the love of her life, Fred Leyhe. Elected the "Most Popular Freshman" by her university peers, Louise excelled as a student and served as President of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Louise, together with Fred, valued close relationships with friends, especially with their dear friends in the "Potluck Group." She scored her first Hole in One at 70, and was an avid Cardinals fan waiting for the 2015 season to start on Sunday, 4/5/2015. She lived her life to the fullest to the very end. As all would attest, she was "sharp as a tack" until her last moment. Louise Leyhe will be missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life. Services: A Memorial Service will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Ladue Chapel, 9450 Clayton Road, Ladue, Missouri on Friday, May 15, at 4 pm. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington University, Whitfield School, John Burroughs School, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood.
