Bosse, William R.
Bosse, William R. 84, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Nov. 19, 2014. Dr. Roberta Bux Bosse, his wife of nearly 58 years, was holding his hand when he transitioned. He was also comforted by their longtime helper and friend, Kelly Curlee-Horn, and her daughter Ruby, whom he fondly called his granddaughter. Bill, born and raised in Maplewood, was a Korean War Veteran who treasured his time in the military, serving his country from 1948-1954 as a Corporal in the National Guard and as a Sergeant in the Army. After leaving the military, he earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at the University of Missouri-Rolla, and a Master of Business Administration from St. Louis University. Bill served the city first as Civil Engineer and later as the City Of St. Louis Water Commissioner. Bill's wife, Bobbie, was the real love and focus of his life, and when she suffered a stroke he devoted himself to caring for her unassisted for sixteen years. One of their many rituals was for Bill to go to sleep to the words from his wife, Good night, My Champion and he will forever remain so in her and our loving memory. William R. Bosse is to be remembered as a man of service. A Mass will be held at a future date.
