Wonderful friend I met at Target servicing the greeting card racks. I looked forward to working my account and we talked about the Cardinals. Such a lovely lady and missed.

I grew up as a backyard neighbor of the Peers. I remember softball games in our side yard with Jan and her brothers and sister. She was such a fun, genuine person. My mother was especially fond of Jan and worked with her on various activities at Assumption. To the Peer and Czarnecki families, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Jan taught me how to coach volleyball while sitting at a table in the lobby at Assumption gym. She patiently used the lids of Gatorade bottles and slid them here and there to give me an understanding of the 6-2, 5-1, but most of all to help me understand how the sport of volleyball could be a great way to reach, teach, and inspire. She certainly inspired me. Her legacy to Assumption volleyball is strong and lasting. I'm blessed to have known her.

I first met Jan in about 1995 at Target Kirkwood where she and I were working for our respective greeting card companies. I immediately liked her and her humor. We were both alike in our work habits--fast and efficient. We would tease each other about that. Was being so fast , a curse or a blessing? We laughed. I shall miss Jan and know she is in heaven humoring everyone. Love, Phyllis Jenkins, Kirkwood, MO.
