Rev. Aloysius A. Forst

Forst, Rev. Aloysius A. Father Al Forst 90, of St. Louis, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, September 21, 2013. He was ordained on June 7, 1949. His first assignment was at All Saints Parish in University City. He moved to Nativity Parish in North St. Louis and then to Holy Ghost in Berkeley, where he served many years before retiring in 1998. Son of the late Albert John and Margaret Helen Forst. Loving brother of Gene (Fran) Forst and the late Albert, Vincent and Rita Rose Forst and Margaret Mary O'Connell. Also surviving are a multitude of nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews who are scattered around the country. Father Al will be sorely missed by his family, his colleagues and his loving friends-especially Dorothy Koszela, who was Father's caretaker and buddy for many years. Father was a staunch Browns fan until they moved out of St. Louis, and then tolerated the Cardinals as their substitute. He was a great soccer and softball player in his youth. He also had a fondness for the horses. He was humble, had a smile for everyone and was a gentle man who cared about others and loved God, his family and his parishioners. Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th at St. Mark Catholic Church, 8300 Morganford Rd., 63123, from 9-11am with Mass to follow. Interment Calvary Cemetery. A STYGAR FLORISSANT CHAPEL & CREMATION CENTER service.
