Chris K. Demetrulias

Demetrulias, Chris K . Passed away peacefully of natural causes with his family by his side his side on March 27, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona where he lived for the last 37 years. A long time St. Louisan, Chris was a successful restaurateur, owning and operating several restaurants including the Golden Ivy Restaurant and Cristo's Restaurant before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona and opening another Cristo's Restaurant there. He was an avid golfer winning many amateur tournaments and played rain or shine, heat or cold as long as the course was open. Chris served in the Korean war and World War II. He was a devoted husband, married to the late Mary Demetrulias for 67 years. Also devoted to his children, he is survived by his daughter, Pat Leontsinis of St. Louis (husband George), son, George Demetrulias (wife Janis), 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was born October 22, 1922 in East St Louis, Illinois to Christ Demetrulias and Panayiota Demetrulias (Mallias). Services: Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Monday April 1 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 8202 E. Cactus Rd., Scottsdale, AZ with a memorial Trisagion service at 7PM. Funeral services will commence Tuesday, April 2 at 11:30 AM at the same location, with internment to follow at the National Cemetery, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ for final services and a military send off at 1:30 PM. A celebration of his life with lunch will be held at the Assumption Church at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
