Dorothy Edna Mae Ahl

Ahl, Dorothy Edna Mae nee Bevirt, age 83, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of rural Caseyville, Ill., born Feb. 4, 1930 in Belleville, Illinois, died December 7, 2013 at Mercy Skilled Nursing Center in Creve Coeur, Mo. The only child of Erroll and Anita, nee Siebert, Bevirt, Dorothy grew up on the family farm in rural Caseyville. She met her husband, Robert, at a VFW Dance in his hometown of August, Missouri. They married in June 1954 and lived most of the next 60 years in Chesterfield, Mo. A beautiful and sophisticated young woman, Dorothy dreamed of becoming a model. She enjoyed arts & crafts, and was a dedicated volunteer at Children's Home Society of Missouri. She was a loving mother, always offering open arms and endless hugs to family and friends alike. Dorothy had a generous spirit, was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren, and always put the needs of others above herself. Always dressed in pink, Dorothy would appreciate those attending her funeral to come dressed in pink. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband Robert Ahl, of Chesterfield, Mo.; her daughter Priscilla Ahl of St. Louis; her son Robert (Jane) Ahl of Webster, Mo., and her four much-loved grandchildren, Anita, Zachary, Trevor, and Michael.
