Frederick Zeibig "Fred" Clifford Sr.

Clifford, Frederick Zeibig, Sr. Fred Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Mon., October 28, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Mary Louise Reilly Clifford; dear father of Frederick Zeibig Fritz Clifford, Jr., Mary Regina Gina Clifford and the late William Kniep Bill Clifford; dear grandfather of Margaret Regina Clifford, Kathleen (Michael) Clifford Evans and Panos, Micah and Kellan Garry; dear brother of Mary Frances, O. Morton and the late Churchill Clifford; former fatherin-law of Mary Ann Clifford and George Garry; our dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. Fred graduated St. Louis Country Day School in 1944 and Yale University in 1949 with a BA in political science. In 1945-46, he served in the US Army's 24 infantry division in Japan. Upon graduation, he began a long career in the investment business, first with G.H. Walker and Son's and then with McCourtney Breckenridge & Co. Upon retirement he became an avid traveler and a loving, doting grandfather to his 5 grandchildren. He was a long time member of the Missouri Athletic Club and was active in many local and national Republican Party organizations for over 60 years. Services: Visitation at the ORTMANN STIPANOVICH Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Fri. Nov. 1 from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Pillar Church on Sat., Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. Private interment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School in his memory, 801 S. Spoede Rd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
