Mary Sharos Bude

Bude, Mary Sharos April 10, 1936 - July 27, 2013. Mary Sharos Bude on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Loving wife for 48 years of George J. Bude; beloved sister of Mondo Robinson of St. Charles, IL, Kathrine Sharos, Elizabeth Jannakos (Nick) of Albuquerque, NM, Constantine Sharos (Gus) of St. Libory, IL, the late William Sharos (survived by Olga), the late George Sharos and the late Anastasia Sharos; dear daughter of the late James Sharos and the late Margaret Cooney Sharos; beloved aunt, great aunt, Godmother and dear friend of many. Mrs. Bude graduated from the University of Missouri of St. Louis, Magna Cum Laude in 1974 with a major in English Literature. She worked for several years as the Executive Secretary for the Missouri Physiological Association and after retiring from that position and not working for several years took the position of Executive Secretary to the then General Manager of Alexander and Alexander Insurance who was Mr. H. Gerald Bishop, a dear friend of both her and her husband. Mrs. Bude was very active in the arts, serving on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Conservatory and Schools for the Arts Auxiliary (now defunct), currently serves on the St. Louis Symphony Volunteer Association in which she has been Chairperson of several committees, including Historian Chair Vice President of Communication, Vice President of Public Relations and was offered the position of President. She was named to the Board of the St. Louis Chapter of the National Society of Art and Letters in 2001 and served as Website Chapter Administrator, among other duties and currently was holding the positions of By-Laws Chair, Yearbook Chair and Photographer. She was currently serving on the Board of Directors of Artists Presentation Society. Mrs. Bude was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and of the St. Nicholas Ladies Philoptochos Society. Services: A Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park Blvd., St. Louis on Friday, August 2, 2013, 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Matthew Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Family Life Center or St. Nicholas Church.
