Paul R. Anderson

Anderson, Paul R. 92, July 7, 1921 August 10, 2013. Paul was born to the late Paul and Helen Anderson in Festus, MO. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture. He served as a Field Artillery Officer and Forward Observer in the U.S. Army's 29th Infantry Division during World War II, and remained in the Army Reserves until he retired with the rank of Major. He was employed with Union Electric Company (Ameren) in 1948 until his retirement in 1986. He married the late E. Jane Anderson in 1952. He is survived by his children, Ross Tillman Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson Bryson (Randy), and Robert Charles Anderson (Robin); his sisters-in-law, Ann Adams Grana (d. Joseph), Cynthia Adams Stuerman (Myron), and Nancy Adams (d. Richard); four grandchildren, Valencia, Elise, Elizabeth and Ross, Jr.; a loving extended family on his wife's side and many friends in his former community of Fairview Heights, IL. His family and friends will miss his loving, kind and generous nature, his sense of humor, his constant compliments and thanks, and friendship. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, at St. George's Episcopal Church, 105 East D Street, Belleville, IL 62220. There will be a visitation hour beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
