Vance Patton Braxton Jr.

Braxton, Vance Patton Jr. Vance Patton Braxton, Jr. born on June 21, 1923. Fondly known as Pat, Dad, Uncle Pat, Granddad, PatPat and Mr. B. Peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at McKnight Place Extended Care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance P. Braxton and Nina Hamilton Braxton and his sister, Nina Braxton Snyder (Dick); and Sally Barrows Braxton, his loving wife of 47 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Susan Blumeyer Braxton; his children, Abby Braxton McCarthy (Matt), Vance P. Braxton, III, (Karin), Sally Braxton Schnuck (Terry) and his grandchildren, Chris McCarthy (Sarah), Sarah Braxton Ferrigno (Andre), Andrew Braxton (Chrissy), Jonathan Braxton (Millie), Hadley Schnuck and Ted Schnuck; his great-grandchildren, Elise, Claire, Jean-Paul, Jack, Max and Bo; his stepchildren, Tonie FitzGibbon, Rindy FitzGibbon (the late David), Peggy FitzGibbon, Mary FitzGibbon (Jack Underwood) and Arthur FitzGibbon (Sandy) and their families; nieces, nephews and many best friends. Last June Pat celebrated 90 years young surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, having attended Community School, John Burroughs and Washington University, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a longtime executive at KSH, Inc. He loved his family, friends and sports cars. Many thanks to his wonderful caregivers, therapists and the staff at McKnight Place, where he has resided for the past 4 1/2 years. Services: A Private family service and celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
