William E. Gahlberg

Gahlberg, William E. 82, died peacefully on December 31, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri. Bill was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 30, 1930, grew up in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of Arizona. After serving in the Air Force, Bill and his wife Ann raised their family in Tubac, Arizona before they moved to Chicago where Bill was involved in the development of real estate in the Oak Brook and Bolingbrook communities. Bill is survived by his wife Ursula Ann (McGreevy) Gahlberg whom he married on December 29, 1955. Bill is also survived by his two daughters Elizabeth (Bill) Gladney and Susan (Mark) Hearne, his grandchildren, Kiley Talbott, Kate Stacy, Anna Gnau, Amelia Hearne and Elise Hearne and his great-grandchildren Anna Kathryn Talbott, Charlotte Talbott and Gus Gnau. Bill was recognized for his success in business and his generous contributions to the community. But what mattered most to Bill was the faith he had in Christ his Savior and the blessing of a rich and full life shared with a family he deeply loved and friends he cherished. Services: A memorial service in celebration of Bill's life will be held Friday, January 11th at 11:00 am. The service will be at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests those wishing to make a memorial contribution to donate to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 119 N.
