Officer Steven C. Burton

Burton, Officer Steven C. 10/08/1958 11/04/2012. Steven was born to Samuel & Barbara Burton. He graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in 1977. Later Steven joined and served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. Afterwards he became an officer for correctional facilities in Yuma, AZ, Avon Park, FL and Polk County, FL. Steve lost his life in a fatal motorcycle accident in Lakeland, FL on 11/4/12, and leaves to mourn his wife Janice; children David, Tameesha and Sam; mother Barbara Burton; brother Phillip (Pam) Burton; sisters Pamela Burton and Angela (Reggie) Wright, along with many friends and relatives. Steve will be remembered for his jovial and fair demeanor. He is mostly remembered for his love for Christ and his sharing this love with many, including inmates at Polk County Correctional Institution, on his own time. Services: Steven was laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida 11/10/2012.
