I have many great memories of Bob, the man who lived across the street from me for years. When he was busy taking cruises around the world, he would ask me to feed the birds and squirrels in his backyard. You could tell that he just loved nature and outdoors.
One of the best Christmas presents I ever got, because it was completely unexpected, was from Bob. On Christmas morning he rang the bell and gave me a package of homemade English muffins dusted in cornmeal. Not only were they delicious, but it was a truly selfless act of kindness.
I missed him when he moved out of his house, but I continue to tell stories of the man across the street who refused to let his aging body slow him down.
My best wishes to his family and friends he left behind.
