My deepest sympathy and prayers for you both and your families. I have to tell you that my mom, Edna Mae Carter, remembered Betty and would quite a few times call me Betty or introduce me as Betty. They were best friends and neighbors as children, and my mom having dementia would think I was Betty and reflect on her childhood. I lost mom a year ago Jan. and dad in Dec. 2008. I have fond memories of your dad coming out to the farm and cutting wood with my dad and our families getting together for dinners. I love the picture you shared of their 50th anniversary. You will be in my prayers.

Wow... What wonderful memories of our times together! Mary & Chris, your Dad was the spice of life that added flavor to all our gatherings. Under that sometimes rough & tough exterior was a gentle caring spirit that loved and cared for his family and those around him. Your Mom (like mine) was the gentle guiding spirit that transformed him through the years. I could see the loving, caring look in his eyes toward your Mom when we visited him. And there was ALWAYS a new story for us about the "younger years!" We'll miss him, but will be with them all again soon. All our love..
