OCS Class 2-59

July 23, 2013

On behalf of the OCS Class 2-59 and myself as class commander, we extend our deepest sympathy to the members of the Schloesser Family and his many friends. Ken, one of the tallest members of our Class, can be remembered for his height, but more for the high principles of Duty, Honor, Country, he displayed during his long military career. Ken will be missed dearly by all of us, but be assured he will remain a member of our Class. Again, our deepest sympathy to you all.

My deepest sympathies go out to Ken's family. I had the honor and pleasure to work for him in Leavenworth at Allen Corporation. He was the best boss and mentor ever. He believed in me and helped me succeed in my career and today I work in Force Development for the U.S. Army supporting our soldiers. Through the years we have kept in touch and I was extremely happy when Ken decided to come to my wedding in October 2009. The world has lost a wonderful man and I have lost someone who I have always admired.

Ken old buddy , I looked up to you in 50th Company for your soldierly bearing and leadership , but you were truly my inspiration to make it through 51st and attain that commission .Our time spent in the rigors of OCS , 54 years ago meant much toward whatever success we enjoyed in later life . You were a friend then, and a renewed friend as a result of our class reunions .It was an honor to know you .We are as proud of Jeff and Matthew as you were, and though we did not know the remainder of the family, we share their loss. I will miss you, our OCS class will miss you , but you will live large in our remaining memory .

So long old soldier, friend, and OCS classmate. We are saddened for the Schloesser Family's loss. We remember with fondness our times with Ken over the years and will miss seeing him at our reunions. He will be honored at our 55th Infantry OCS Class Reunion next April at Fort Benning. Ken, until we meet again, rest in peace. You served your country and your family well. May the peace of Christ be with you.

Ken you have always been at the top of my list, I so looked forward to seeing you at our OCS reunions, telling stories, tipping a glass or two, or three and remembering the few times we spent together over the years. Lorraine and I enjoyed our stay at your home in 2009. We were on our way back to OR on our Honda trike and trailer. Love ya man, you were certainly one of our best soldiers and class mate. See ya up there, play around or so. Regards to our Father

I'm really glad we got to spend time at the lake in April. I'd been trying to talk him into going fishing with me at a lake in Illinois for 15 years and we never quite made it. He was always my favorite uncle and I will miss him at family events here in town, having dinner, a beer, and playing washers with the rest of our family here. He will be greatly missed. We all love you Uncle Ken.
