Mom, I miss you so much. I wish you were here for so many reasons. Mainly because I wish you could be here to see your granddaughters grow up. We talk about you every day, we find your pennies. I miss your smile, I miss your laugh and I really miss your wisdom and unwavering support. I love you. My world hasn’t been the same. Love Kee

Hi Melodye, I've been thinking about you a lot the last few days and especially today. It's July 30 ,
2025 and it's a little after 4 AM. In the morning . 12 years ago you left us for a better place you sometimes referred to as Paradise, and to be with Jesus. I'll remember that morning and that day forever and how it changed my life, as well as that of many others. I'll always wonder what my life and our lives would have been like if you were here, as well as the lives of our families and countless others. I'll see you when it's time. Love, Ricky

Back in Colorado and missing you so much. I can't believe it's been 10 years. Seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time. We know you are always with us, we find your "Ma Melodye Coins" everywhere. Keeping you alive in sharing all the memories of you and teaching the kids to know and love Jesus like you did. We love you so much. One day closer.... until I see you again. Love, Keedle

Mom, I just saw a post that said "Maybe all that Christmas magic you knew as a child was a Mom who really loved you"
I struggle so much this time of year trying to make it as special as you did. Trying to carry on your "magic" that you had for everything with Marlowe and Arden. We miss you so much. I know you are with me. Mar knows all about the "ma melodye" coins. Not a day goes by I don´t think of you. Love you so much Mom. I´m sure heaven is magnificent right now preparing for the celebration of our Lord and Savior. Love you

Hey Mel I think of you often, especially when I have begun a new therapy treatment. I remember all of the years we used to sit out back and drink coffee and discuss life. You were always a great mother figure to Ron and Keelyn’s friends (including myself). I miss your huge smile and your laugh that could light up any room no matter how big! I hope you are flying high in heaven and watching over your children and grandchildren. You have a wonderful family ❤ Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me.

Mommy, I know you know how much I talk to you. I know you're always with me. This is just the way I tell you how much I love you and how much I miss you so much every day. Marlowe is just getting to the point where she knows who you are but I tell her about you often. I know you see us and I know you know her. I promise to always tell her about you and to carry on "our traditions." I'm waiting for it to snow so she and I can have our first "hookie" day. I have your picture in our living room and I always tell her that's "MA" but I have so much to tell her. I miss you so much... I wish you were here. Dad is trying really hard to be there for her but it's not the same. Aunt Lynn and UJ are so amazing- they have really stepped up to be here for her. Life just isn't the same without you. Your smile and your presence just made everyone, including me, feel ok. I'm doing the best I can to be a good mom but I keep trying to tell Mar about the mom I had and I feel like I'm failing. You were so good to us and I never got the chance to thank you. I never understood the sacrifices you made until I became a mom myself. I wish I could tell you today how thankful I am and how much I love you but it will have to wait until I see you. I know I will see you again and while I can wait because I want to be here with Marlowe as much as possible, I can't wait to see you again. I pray every night that God keeps Mar safe, happy and healthy all the days of her life. I hope you can talk to Him and help me make sure that always happens. She is such a beautiful little girl with the most vivacious spirit and I know you are living through her and me. We miss you, Ma, and we love you so much. Continue to watch over us and bless us. Love you!

Mom, you asked me to continue to share our memories to keep you with me. I wish you were here to meet your granddaughter but we played hookie last Thursday and went to the Zoo. I told her about our "hookie" day at the Zoo and how we got caught and ended up on the front page of the Post-Dispatch in a photo and article about Jane Goodall! I know you were with us but thought I'd share with everyone else too! Love you, miss you. - Kee

Melodye and I were childhood friends. We joked about being our first boyfriend/ girlfriend. We were in 2nd grade together at Watson Elementary, we exchange cards and letters,Ivisited her home several times my parents knew her parents. When ever we would run in to each other she joked about her bribing me to sit with her in the cafeteria by giving me her desert. I ran into her every few years even though its been more than thirty years. I didn't know she was in the same field as me, I'm a therapist in private practice. Hearing this news I feel an important part of my past is gone, I'm so sad.

Happy Anniversary, and Happy Valentines Day to my beautiful wife, I think of you every day and today most of all. I love you and miss you. I remember everything about this day in Key West, isn't it odd that the picture in this obituary, the worst time of my life, was taken in Key West when we were married, the happiest time of my life. I will see you when it is time, Love, Ricky
February 13, 2014
I remember what we were doing 13 years ago today. We had our marriage license and were riding bikes in Key West and waiting to go down to the pier and watch the sunset. You were so happy as we danced in the sunset as other people just watched us. We were making our dreams come true and getting married. Getting married on Valentines Day, what a perfect love story, that must have been your idea! Little did we know how short our time would be together, I miss you, Love you, and thank you for letting me be your husband, and for loving me. I will never be the same without you. I will send you a message again tomorrow. Love, Ricky

Rick,
One of my favorite memories of Melodye is how she got such great joy out of simple things. Like a discarded rocking chair that you refurbished back to life. Or the joy she got from greeting the costumed children on Halloween. She always glowed when talking about her children and grandchildren. I love how she was always kind to everyone, even the neighborhood dogs whom she would give dog treats to as she walked Mazie. I'm so happy you decided to put up Christmas lights yesterday. They light up the neighborhood just like Melodye's smile. I know the holidays are hard time. Please try to focus on the great memories and good times. Melodye would want you to be happy and live your life with the same joy that she shared with everyone she met.

We just found out Melodye was gone yesterday and we are crushed. Our daughter began seeing Melodye professionally a couple of years ago and she changed her life. As a matter of fact she changed mine too! Melodye was like no one we have ever met. So kind, loving and wise. Her infectious spirit and joy always brought smiles to our faces! I reminded our daughter that Melodye will be a part of every success she ever has in her future. We will remember and miss her always!

Melody helped me through one the most painful times of my life. Then I felt she started needing me more. We had such frank discussions about life and when it was time to go. I last saw her a month before her passing. And she never let on, that her passing was near. But I felt it. I will miss her than words can ever say. No one can ever replace her zest for life and compassion for others. I love you Melodye may you fly high and say hi to Rod for me. Love you

I had the pleasure of working with Melodye at COMTREA. I will never forget her distinctive voice and infectious laugh. She had a true gift upon meeting you for the first time of feeling like you've been friends forever. Melodye took my daughter, Megan McDowell, under her angelic wings after her dad also an employee of Melodye's at COMTREA, David McDowell, suffered a stroke. She has left us with many special memories we will treasure forever. David, Megan and I are thankful for Melodye and truly were touched by an Angel.
My deepest sympathy to her family. May you find comfort knowing Melodye meant so much to so many.

I pray that God will comfort her family and all of her dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her and being around her. I am so glad I was able to see her and talk to her again at LHS's 40th Reunion, but NOW my heart is broken. She was a unique person who had the ability to light up a room when she entered it. Her spirit will live on in all of our hearts until we meet again. Life is precious and short and all that truelly matters is that we love the Lord with all our hearts and "love thy neighbor as thyself". Luv u Mel!

Harris-Juelfs Family, My thoughts are with you all during this sad time. I have several memories that I would like to share. I went to Grad school with Meloyde at Webster. We were in every class together. I made an instant connection with Melodye during Grad school. She took me under her wing. Then she started to work with me at Comtrea. We were so lucky to go on a business trip to Orlando to promote our programs. Well, we also had some play time to enjoy Orlando. Universal Studios will never be the same! We had a blast and I was so lucky to get to room with Melodye and share many, many laughs with her. I lost touch with her when she left Comtrea but I never lost the connection. She touched so many lives and more than you may ever know. She will be greatly missed. Melodye is now at peace with a huge smile on her face. Heaven not only gained an Angel but someone who will bring a lot of engery, smiles and laughter. God Bless your family! RIP Melodye!

Melodye's Family, I am so sorry to hear the news of her passing. I would like to share with you the happiness and love Mel shared with so many people (especially at LHS '72). She made bad things good and good things even better. Mel had a special "can-do" attitude always tackling the most difficult issue. I can still her her laugh and tell a short joke which made everyone bust out in laughter. Mel made the difference we all needed, she will be missed. May God Bless her and her family! Melodye always went out of her way for me. She made me feel special and prized from the time I was a little girl. Thankfully, I met Keelyn in 6th grade and remain friends eversince. Keelyn and her mother(Mel) came to visit me in the hospital after I had surgery. She knew my Dad's name was either her son's name or Keeyln's Dad's name, but she couldn't remember which so she just picked one. This one name happened to be the incorrect name calling him Ron, over and over again throughout the conversation, while I was laying in the hospital bed keeled over from laughing so hard. She laughed too when Keelyn lovingly reminded her his name was Steve. Good times. Melodye also came up to my school when I was in college and gave a presentation on Alcoholics Anonymous. What a special lady.

Her concerns were always about everyone else. I am honored and fortunate to have known her.
