I just heard about Mr Morelli's passing, and am still processing it all. I only had him for one year as a teacher / principle but he has been one of the most influential people in my life. I have found myself thinking of him and praying for him often over the past 20 years and know that he has a special place in Heaven. God bless all of his family and give you strength and peace knowing he has been reunited with his maker. (what a reunion that must have been, huh?!)

Dearest Aunt Joan and Cousins - My conversation with Uncle Anthony on his birthday just before he passed into our Lord's loving arms is a testiment to his loving, humorous personality.....despite his discomfort he laughed about growing up with Daddy and shared his love for you, Aunt Joan. As Daddy would say "What a prince of a guy".....our love and prayers go out to all of you. Your West Coast Cousins - Joanne, Francine, Carolyn & John Morelli and families

Being a student during Mr. Morelli's tenure at LHS was a real honor. He always took the time to show you how important you were to him and to the staff at LHS. I wish I had spent more time with him. He was a great man, and a mentor to so many! May god carry him in gracious arms.

Mr. Morelli was one of those teachers and school administrators who "got it". The students respected and enjoyed him immensely. I still remember him doing the morning announcements. Whenever the forecast was for rainy weather, he would tell the athletes "don't forget your rowboats!" May God bless his family.

I've known Tony Morelli for most of my life - as a father to his son Mark a classmate, as a faithful catholic at Holy Infant Church who attended daily mass for as long as I can remember, as a Vice Principal at Lafayette High School, and most importantly as a cook when he would demonstrate Italian cooking and food preparation once a semester for everyone willing to take that class. He was a man who knew a lot and suggested little. The world will miss Anthony Morelli, as will I.

Dear Joan and family,

I first knew the Morelli family when Joan was a school nurse at Woerther. Later I learned that they were members of my parish. Tony attended Adoration early mornings for a long while demonstrating his devotion to his Catholic faith. Just recently, I would run into Tony and Joan at St Lukes hospital while Tony was undergoing chemo. I was there frequently with my father as he was also in chemo at the time. I found it so heartwarming to see Joan supporting Tony so lovingly.

May Tony rest in peace. God bless Joan, the children and grandchildren.

Dear Joan,
Anthony will always be in my heart, thoughts and prayers. We had been friends since we were children. He was a warm, intelligent, funny person with a wonderful outlook on life.
I met my husband because Anthony had shown him a picture of me when both of them were Marines in Korea. That started a correspondence with Al and ended with our marriage. Because Anthony was the link that brought Al and me together, there was a special bond among all of us. Although we have not seen each other for many years, through email and phone calls, it has been a pleasure for our friendship to have endured all these years. I will miss him.
My deepest sympathy is with you, your children and grandchildren and all the Morelli family.
God bless all of you.

Mr. Morelli, we crossed paths several times. As a student at Lafayette...as a substitute (for your in-school suspension) at Crestview...and most importantly as a guest in your home after befriending your son Greg during college. The outpouring of support is a testament to the positive impact you've had that will remain always.

i had the pleasure and honor of being a history student of mr. m at chaminade. he was clearly the BEST history teacher i ever experienced. he opened up a totally new way of thinking about history and historical events. later on, i was fortunate to renew meet him again when he was the principal at crestview jr. h. where my daughter was a student. he was one of the educators who made a difference in many lives and more importantly, was a great human being. many of my chaminade classmates will remember his good-natured humor and how he poked fun at a lot of us--remember how he would always call my buddy chris - "braces bartels"! rest in peace MR. MORELLI, rest in peace.

Mr. Morelli, I remember having to come to your office because Ms. Sutton had accidentally marked me absent from Geometry class. You kept looking at me, asking me who I was because I was never in your office. I was able to provide you with a quiz I took the day I was marked absent and you sent me on my way with a smile and a kind word. After that, any time we passed each other you would always call me by my name with a smile and a funny comment. I never forgot that. Sir, may you rest in peace and may your family find strength and comfort in all the people you touched. Ted Parker, Class of '79.
