I was very sorry to learn of Conrad Busse's death.
I wish to extend my and my wife Lea's sympathy to his
daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren
and other relatives.

My most recent contact with Conrad was when I
convened a get-together between Conrad, myself Bob
Stokely and Richard Francis to visit our old
classrooms at Washington University and eat lunch
there, a few years ago.

Conrad, Richard and I sat near each other in
Freshman drafting class, 1948-49, and got to know each
other.

Conrad, Bob and I were in the same calculus
class and in the following ROTC class at Washington
University. Calculus was in Givens hall, near
Skinker, and ROTC was on Big Bend, and we only had
10-15 minunites to get to ROTC at the opposite end
of the campus! We always walked to ROTC together.

In our freshman year, we engineering students
shared many classes. Conrad an ME, Bob an EE,
Richard a Civil engineering and myself a Chem
engineering student.

Conrad and I had both also attended Normandy
High School. Conrad, class of 1947 and I was class
of 1948. We were both in the Senior band from
1945-1947 and got to know each other. Conrad was
on drums and I was on clarinet & sax. Many
parades, football games and concerts, together.

Conrad was our marching band Drum Major in 1946-47.
I have the Normandy 1947 yearbook that shows him
in his Uniform. Conrad and I also were members
of the Public Address squad. We set up the
PA system for assemblies.

My fiancee and wife-to-be, Leath Koesterer,
gave me a surprize party on my 21st borthday,
5/2/51. Conrad attended, together with six
others of our best friends. We have a scrapbook
photo from that party, which includes Conrad.

I have worked with and for Conrad since 1972. He was a true professional in every sense of the word. It was an honor and pleasure to have known him. Be assured that he is at peace and with Sue in the Lord's Grace.
