I came to know Dorothea when she was a patient of Dr. Mark Beehner, an Oral Surgeon. She was an extraordinary woman with a heart of gold! I always looked forward to her visits and stories of her beloved grandchildren. I miss her.

Dorothea was fun to talk to as a fellow musician. When she attended a service where I was the organist, she would frequently stay until the postlude ended to share a compliment or mention that she played a particular song "years ago." I had the honor of playing the organ for Gus's funeral and she was very kind and complimentary. She always had kind words for everyone and a smile too. Now she and Gus can again make music together to the glory of God.

Condolences to Dorothea's family. She was a very special lady. She and Gus were the music program at MUMC for many, many years. Even when she had health issues, she always managed to have a smile. She will be missed!

Dorothea shared her gift of music with all of us at Manchester UMC. As organist, accompanist for the Circuit Riders and piano teacher, she was a dear talented woman with a great sense of humor. She's playing again for Gus in Heaven. My sympathy to the family on the passing of this lovely lady.

We were saddened by the news of Drothea's death. We missed the years when Gus and Dorothea were the music ministry at MUMC. I remember Dorothea at Lydia Circle, UMW Unit meeting, apple butter days, Christmas tree lot, 50 + and just about any major activity that occurred during the 28 years we were there. She was a dear, sweet woman who will be sorely missed by many.

It was wonderful to know Dorthea at church and outside of church. She taught my daughter Jenny, piano lessons. We would sit and talk because she reminded me of my mom who lived in Florida. Jenny's brothers would go outside and help Gus in the yard. They were a lovely couple. It is nice to think they are together again.

It saddened me so much to hear Mrs. Bante had passed away. She was my beloved piano teacher and I was blessed to have a special relationship with her all these years. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Bante at Manchester Methodist where he led the choir and she played piano for the services. It brings a smile to my face as I imagine the Bantes and my dad, Hal Wilkins, singing praises to our Heavenly Father in Heaven. What a joy to see Jesus face to face for all eternity! My sympathy to the Bante family in your loss of a precious lady who was loved by so many.

It was a privilege to know Dorothea and to sing with her in the Manchester Chapel Choir for a number of years. She was a gracious lady, a true Christian and a tremendous asset to MUMC.

Mrs. Bante was piano teacher to my mom, my sister, and me years ago, and I remember pieces of those afternoons so clearly -- next to her on the piano bench in her living room and also playing in her yard while I waited for my turn. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends; she was such a caring woman.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Dorothea's passing. We cherish memories of our times together at Manchester UMC. She was such a sweet, positive person. We loved listening to her play piano for the Good News Quartet and organ in the Chapel years ago. How she loved music and people! She and her husband Gus were the foundation of the church's music program for so many years. We will miss her!
